The Youth Empowerment Group is all for promoting mental well-being in today’s youth. The organization was founded by a group of professionals who specialize in mental health, education, and medicine. It is their mission to help youth achieve academic success and healthy relationships through social-emotional learning.Their program, PowerUp Girls, delivers life skills training for 4th through 8th graders.
The Weld Trust provided the Youth Empowerment Group with a grant in 2020 to assist with program costs to deliver their PowerUp Girls program to youth in Weld County. This program helps girls learn to triumph over gender-specific pressures and promote well-being. The learning activities provide them with tools to build self-esteem, have a positive body image, practice safe social media use, develop safe and healthy relationships, use problem and conflict solving skills, utilize emotional expression and coping, as well as rejecting substances.
The Weld Trust’s mission is to promote excellence in health and education in Weld County. With the grant awarded, the Youth Empowerment Group works toward this mission by helping our youth improve their emotional and mental well-being.
