Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity has been awarded a $25,000 Community Health and Education Grant from The Weld Trust® to support the nonprofit’s Affordable Housing Program.
The Weld Trust®, formally NCMC, Inc., is a new foundation that was created after the sale of the North Colorado Medical Center to Banner Health.
The program provides homeownership opportunities to marginalized families in Weld County. The nonprofit has provided homeownership opportunities to more than 150 families in the county.
“Struggling families now more than ever are caught in punishing cycles of unpredictable rent increases, overcrowded conditions and unhealthy living environments,” Cheri Witt-Brown, executive director of the nonprofit said. “The Weld Trust’s® partnership and investment plays a vital role in insuring that every individual can have a safe and affordable place to call home.”
Money from the grant will support the increased impact and capacity that the nonprofit has projected for 2020.
