Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning is vitally important for many careers and jobs today. To support equitable access for all students in Greeley-Evans School District 6 with a STEM foundation, The Weld Trust awarded a four-year grant to the Success Foundation to support building Smart Labs in all elementary, middle and K-8 schools in District 6. The Success Foundation is the supporting foundation for District 6.
The Weld Trust grant was originally awarded in 2021 to build 15 SmartLabs over four years. The Smart Labs provide STEM learning with a personalized, hands-on, project-based approach. It encourages students to find things they are interested in and passionate about. By integrating STEM disciplines at these early grades, students can continue their STEM coursework and pursue pathway programs in high school. SmartLab learning also build skills that every student benefits from including creativity, collaboration, and communication.
